As an author might visualize the various parts of a novel before seeing it to fruition, so does a winemaker envision the layout of a wine. A blend must fill in every gap, eliminate every flaw, stay true to the character of the grape variety, and demonstrate the specific flavors imparted from the vineyard where the grape was grown.
