FALL VINES

Today McElmo, still rich in history, is also rich in character. Our neighbor Johnny Tomac was World Mountain Biking Champion, Downhill and Cross country. Charlie (aka the rabbit man) used to be a roadie for Alice Cooper. Today he lives in a tent, his trailer overrun by his precious rabbits. Jimmy Porter and his wife, Dorothy, farm hay. A lot of hay. The most in Southwestern Colorado. They dynamited an 80-foot cave out of the side of a cliff in which we store our wine. Apparently the blast threw them 30 feet into the hay field. Brothers shoot brothers, children die during birth on kitchen tables. Perhaps all this gives our wines their unique character.
