Ben Parsons
was born in the UK and has worked
in the wine industry for 10
years. He began at Layton’s
Wine Merchant, a Bordeaux and
Burgundy specialist retailer
in London and attained his Diploma
in wine from the Wine and Spirit
Education Trust. From there
he traveled to Australia and
gained a post-graduate degree
in Enology from the University
of Adelaide before working in
the Marlborough region of New
Zealand. Ben came to Colorado
in 2001 and started making wine
for Sutcliffe Vineyards in 2003.
In 2005 he founded Colorado
WineWorks, LLC to help small
wineries produce premium wines.
In addition to his full-time
job at Sutcliffe Vineyards he
now consults for 8 wineries
in Colorado, Missouri and New
Mexico; and regularly travels
back to Australia to work the
harvest.
