Colorado, like all great wine producing regions, has contrasting climates. The Grand Valley is a hot climate. Very warm days and warm nights during the ripening season make this an area most suited to Rhone varietals like Viognier, Syrah, Grenache and Mouvedre (mid to late ripening).
