Wine Spectator Online Review - January 2010
Sutcliffe Vineyards Chardonnay Colorado Signature 2008, $35
A nice juicy version, with tasty Jonagold apple and glazed pear notes, judicious butter and a hint of grilled hazelnut. Nicely done. Drink now. 69 cases made. J.M. 1/1/2010

Sutcliffe Vineyards Chardonnay Colorado 2008, $25.
Straightforward, offering plump pear and yellow apple notes with a buttery edge, but then manages to stay fresh and persistent on the finish. Drink now. 199 cases made. J.M. 1/1/2010

One Bottle, October 2010
Josh Baer says the about 2007 Chardonnay Signature, ".....The bouquet, on the other, hand fires a shot across your bow. It informs you that any preconceived notions you may have about American Chardonnays are about to be blown to smithereens. On the palate, the 2007 Sutcliffe Signature Chardonnay tells you a story you cannot forget. The story travels from your mouth to your heart, and then it breaks your heart. The finish lasts until your heart is in pieces.

In 1986, 1989, 1991, and 1992, Andre Ramonet (of Domaine Ramonet in Chassagne-Montrachet, Burgundy) made a series of Batard-Montrachets that displayed (and still display) the rare combination of generosity and restraint that characterizes the 2007 Sutcliffe Vineyards Signature Chardonnay.
Andre Ramonet's are ledgendary . . .

Edible Aspen, "How Good Can Colorado Wines Be?", Fall 2009
"Bordeaux red varietals - merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon - are at the top of my list", says Bentley. Pinot noir seems to have a foothold in the North Fork Valley, especially Steve Rhodes' Emilia's Vineyard bottling. That said, Sutcliffe's Bodys Gallen, a blend of merlot, cabernet franc and other grapes, is the single best red I've ever tasted from Colorado...

... Others mentioned syrah, while a bottle of Sutcliffe's 2007 cinsaut, another relatively obscure French grape, knocked my own socks off at a recent dinner at Six89. Edible Aspen, NO.8, FALL 2009, written by Tom Passavant...quote from, Bill Bentley, sommelier/general manager, Restaurant Six89, Carbondale Colorado.
